Day 13, Back to Denver.

Here at 6,000ft the extra effort is noticeable.
Our little train, number 40, pulls us over the Devils Gate Bridge, back into Georgetown. We bus into town and have a hasty sandwich lunch at the Victorian Lady. Unfortunately we are short on time. Some on the tour have flights this evening. We dont get to see anything of historic Georgetown. Our bus driver takes a different route back to Denver, following Clear Creek Canyon. We see white water rafters and traces of the narrow gage railway which once ran from Denver to the mining area we just left. This is one of the most beautiful gorges we have seen. |
